The creative department is not a place I check out of.
Here's some of the weirdness that keeps me occupied outside of work.

I don't need to be trained on piano to show that I am one bad mofo on the keys. Honestly, I am bad.

I run a lot.
There are so many great places to run in Portland. Watch for me on Terwilliger Blvd. No seriously, open your eyes! One time some knucklehead in a Honda rolled through a stop sign and I went over the hood. Now I know what a bursa sack is though I don't recommend googling it.
For me, running is a surefire way to quiet the monkeys in my head and counterbalance my donut intake.

Drawing always beats AI.
I have grown to appreciate how useful AI can be. But in my view, nothing beats original art. To me, drawing is like dancing: Just get out there, have fun, and don't worry what it looks like.
As a copywriter, visual thinking is a big part of the job. Many of my ideas begin as doodles. And when I'm not on the job, my doodling can go in some pretty different directions. Case in point, here’s what happened when I got ahold of some Sports Illustrated photos and let my inner seventh-grader run wild. It's amazing what you can do with an eraser and magic markers.
